History Buffs, There Are Many Things for You

Do you love history?  Do you enjoy the ancient history that goes back to the times of the early Romans?  If so, be sure to stop by the Cyprus Museum.  You will be able to view many ancient artifacts including items from ancient Roman times.  The museum is located in Nicosia, which also has many other interesting museums, including the Ethnographic Museum which is a must see if you are interested in things such as ancient weaving.

History buffs are also sure to enjoy Limassol, which features the Kolossi Castle.  The castle was built in the 13th century and restored two hundred years later.  This castle is a remarkable tribute to the architecture of the time, and you do not have to love the stories behind the building to appreciate the pure aesthetics.

The Arts

If you take a trip to Limassol, be sure to stop by The Temple of Kourion.  At this temple, you will be able to not only enjoy the Greek and Roman ruins, but you will also be able to view some ancient Shakespearian plays.  This can be a wonderful outing for the entire family.

When you see a Shakespeare play in this setting, it somehow seems more authentic.  This is an amazing experience and anyone who loves Shakespeare needs to take advantage of the opportunity to see the play live in such a beautiful place.

If you are interested in wine, Cyprus has some of the best wine in the world.  Visit the many wineries in the area, and even check out some of the wine festivals that are sponsored by the local wineries.
